The System Colonisation Contractors (SCC) is a fast growing Elite Dangerous community focused on organizing targeted system colony projects or "contracts" that haulers and architects can collaborate on, ensuring no opportunity for growth is overlooked.
Innovative Community Approach:
Unlike groups with rigid rules or strict hierarchies, SCC emphasizes being a cooperative platform where the community shapes its direction. Intentionally designed to be abstract, we allow our members more freedom and reduced friction when creating contracts and planning system expansions.
Leadership sees its role as guiding and supporting member-driven initiatives rather than dictating specific paths. The group values self-organization. The approach is compared to a neutral "dispatch/taxi-service," facilitating connections between colonists and haulers without imposing overly restrictive processes.
We place a strong focus on recognizing member contributions through various methods, including cosmetic & moderator roles, participation in elections, and recognition for significant contributors.
We utilize a unique communication method with the SCCN Weekly Broadcast which allows us to build identity, share aggregate community achievements, and maintain engagement across the 'verse.
Furthermore, SCC actively plans to expand beyond just hauling/colonization support by organizing non-hauling events like combat wings (Haz Res), BGS operations, wing mining groups, and potentially fleet carrier funding initiatives to foster broader community interaction and retention.
A Brief History...
Since its founding by Commander Divinejosh2 in the Spring of 3311, the System Colonisation Contractors rapidly transitioned into a period of intense activity and remarkable achievement. The weeks spanning from late March through mid-April marked a foundational chapter in SCC's history, defined by extraordinary hauling efforts and the successful completion of numerous critical colonization projects across the galaxy. Commanders rallied together, demonstrating incredible dedication and teamwork.
During this high-tempo period, SCC saw its lifetime hauling figures skyrocket from just over 1.3 million tons to nearly 3.9 million tons by April 11th. Daily hauling averages consistently exceeded 100,000 tons, with peak periods showcasing the group's growing capacity and efficiency. Operationally, SCC hit major milestones, including coordinating complex multi-carrier deployments, clearing the entire backlog of Priority Red system timers for the first time, and successfully completing an impressive number of stations – including nine systems finished in a single week, eight of which were advanced Tier 3 stations.
This surge of activity wasn't just about numbers; it solidified SCC's collaborative spirit. From tackling urgent community timers to welcoming and integrating new haulers, the period highlighted the effectiveness of SCC's cooperative model. The incredible tonnage moved and the sheer number of stations built in such a short time stand as a testament to the hard work and coordinated efforts of every participating SCC contractor, laying a strong foundation for the group's future endeavors.
